The Roar - Lincoln's Student Run Newspaper

One of the few elementary schools in the state to have its own newspaper, Lincoln's "Roar" has been going strong since its first edition came out in 2010. The Roar Editorial Board is comprised of 5th grade students who oversee the roles of Editor-in-Chief or a Section Editor (Advice, Animal/Pet, Art, Book Review, School/Community, Entertainment/Music, Fashion, Food, Sports, Travel/Outdoors, and Science/Technology). Any Lincoln student may contribute an article, book review, drawing, etc. for consideration to be featured.

Lincoln Student Council

The Student Council is composed of 4th and 5th grade students under the direction and guidance of classroom teachers. Elections are held twice a year in the Fall and Spring to give more students the opportunity to assume the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Members of the Student Council are leaders of the school who set a positive example to peers, while helping to build community and school spirit.

Big & Little Buddies

Older grades - typically 4th and 5th - are given the opportunity to mentor a Kindergarten or 1st grade student in the supervised classroom environment. This is a popular program which builds comradery and confidence among participants.
