TIPS FOR MANAGING PROBLEMS ON THE PLAYGROUND
Remind children of Rho-Sham-Bo (rock-paper-scissors) to resolve disagreements and issues.
Benching is when you ask a child to leave the play area and sit on a designated (you designate) bench for an amount of time (discretionary). You bench a student for refusing to resolve a disagreement, repeatedly breaking the rules of the playground, being disrespectful, fighting or bullying. NOTE: Be sure to find out the child/children's name and who their teacher is. Please fill out a discipline form in the main office.
Bullying, rudeness, swearing and fighting are not to be tolerated. Use your best judgement to ask a child to sit out.
